BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya is in the news these days. After the recent trend on Twitter following sexual harassment allegations, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh has again issued a notice of Rs 10 crore to the leader. An RSS member accused BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya of being involved in sexual harassment. These allegations created an uproar in political circles.
Many opposition parties including Congress have demanded the immediate arrest of Malviya and his immediate removal from the post. Meanwhile, Amit Malviya has also backtracked on this issue. He has filed a defamation suit of Rs 10 crore against the RSS member Shantanu Sinha who made the allegations. He also demanded the removal of the insulting post.
“The nature of false allegations of alleged sexual misconduct against my client is extremely objectionable,” the notice sent by the lawyer said. “These allegations would tarnish my honour and reputation.”
Let us tell you here that Shantanu Sinha had alleged in a post on social media that Malviya had illicit relations with women during his stay in West Bengal. Women are being sexually exploited not only in 5 star hotels but also in BJP offices in West Bengal. Congress said that our demand from BJP is that in the interest of justice for women, he should be removed from the post immediately. Until Amit Malviya resigns, a fair investigation of the case is not possible.
Demand for justice for women
Supriya Srinet said, “We demand justice for women in Bengal from BJP. Be it Lakhimpur, Hathras, Bilkis Bano or our players, the criminals have been given political protection every time.” This time strict action should be taken against the accused. I hope the government will take a definite decision on this matter.
