Allies have only 1 Cabinet post in Modi 2.0
In the second term of the Modi government, five cabinet minister posts were given to BJP's allies (NDA). At that time BJP had a huge majority. But this time, due to lack of majority in the third term, it is dependent on allies for majority in the Lok Sabha. Modi 3.0 includes HD Kumaraswamy of Janata Dal (Secular), Jitan Ram Manjhi of Hindustani Awam Morcha, Rajiv Ranjan alias Lallan Singh of Janata Dal (United), Kinjarpu Ram Mohan Naidu of Telugu Desam Party and Chirag Paswan of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas Paswan). It happens that Paswan took oath as a cabinet minister in a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday.
Prime Minister Modi administered the oath of 30 cabinet ministers, five ministers of state with independent charge and 36 ministers of state. Out of the total 31 cabinet ministers, including Prime Minister Modi, five are members of Rajya Sabha, while six other members of the Upper House have been made ministers of state. In such a situation, this time BJP's allies can get 5 ministries. BJP wants to keep these ministries with itself.
