EPFO Online Life Certificate: Earlier, pensioners had to work hard every year to submit their life certificate, but to eliminate this difficulty, EPFO has given a special facility to the pensioners.

PF New Service: The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has made several changes in the rules, giving relief to its more than 78 lakh pensioners. One of these facilities is the Digital Life Certificate (DLC), which has made the pension process very easy. Actually, EPFO accepts biometric based DLC. For this, the pensioner does not have to visit any bank, post office or common service center, but the life certificate is submitted every year sitting at home.

The number of users is constantly growing

The number of pensioners using this service of EPFO is continuously increasing. If we look at the data shared by PIB on June 8, the number of pensioners submitting DLC based on facial authentication technology was 2.1 lakh in the financial year 2022-23, which increased rapidly to 6.6 lakh in the financial year 2023-24. That is, there has been a three-fold increase in it on an annual basis.

Eliminate the hassle of running around offices

Digital Life Certificate has provided this great convenience to pensioners and has eliminated the hassle of visiting offices earlier to submit life certificate. With the help of Face Authentication Technology (FAT), this important work can now be done from home. Due to the difficulties faced by pensioners in submitting life certificate and the constant complaints received, EPFO had made DLC service available for its pensioners in the year 2015.

FAT facility in the year 2022

Due to the problems faced by elderly pensioners, MeitY and UIDAI have developed Face Authentication Technology (FAT) in the year 2022. With its help, pensioners can submit Jeevan Pramaan Patra from home with the help of their smartphone. In this, the pensioner is instantly identified by facial scan. Actually, UIDAI uses the face recognition app to identify the Aadhaar database. Its process is also easy.

The service is very easy to use

To use facial authentication technology, Aadhaar Face RD and 'Jeevan Pramaan' app has to be installed in the smartphone. After this, the face scan is done as per the given instructions. After the scanning is completed, the DLC submission is confirmed on the mobile screen along with Jeevan Pramaan ID and PPO number and this work is done sitting at home.
