Who will become BJP President: After the results of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the NDA government has been formed for the third consecutive time at the Center on Sunday evening. NDA Parliamentary Party leader Narendra Modi took oath as Prime Minister for the third time. Along with him, members of the Union Cabinet also took oath. Meanwhile, BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda (JP Nadda) was also among those who took the oath of office and secrecy.
JP Nadda is the National President of BJP since 2020.
JP Nadda has been a member of the cabinet in the first term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He was made the Union Health Minister. However, JP Nadda became a member of the Rajya Sabha in 2012 itself. After the formation of the Modi government in 2014, Amit Shah took over as the National President of the BJP. He included JP Nadda in the Parliamentary Board. In the year 2019, Amit Shah became the Home Minister and JP Nadda was made the National Working President of the BJP.
JP Nadda was crowned as the president in 2020, a year after his extended term, which will end in June 2024. According to the BJP constitution, the term of the president is three years. Also, a chairman can get two consecutive terms. However, JP Nadda was given only one year to prepare for the Lok Sabha elections in 2023. This extension is ending in June 2024 itself. So now he has been made a minister again in the Modi government.
Shocking decisions of BJP organization and government after 2014
After the return of JP Nadda to the government, it has been decided that BJP may soon get its next president. Now speculations have intensified regarding the names of possible candidates for the post of BJP president. However, most of the decisions of the BJP organization and the government after 2014 have surprised people. It is possible that the organization has made up its mind about the new BJP president and finalized the name, but the market of speculation is still hot.
Along with JP Nadda, many potential leaders took oath as ministers
According to sources, when the uproar over the name of the new BJP president started, the names that were in discussion till yesterday included Bhupendra Yadav, Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Manohar Lal and Dharmendra Pradhan. But all of them, along with JP Nadda, have taken oath as ministers in the Modi cabinet. In such a situation, all these names are now out of the race. According to BJP sources, a new name for the national president may be announced soon.
