It is almost certain that senior BJP leaders like Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh will become ministers. Along with this, former Chief Ministers Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Basavaraj Bomai, Manohar Lal and Sarbananda Sonowal, who won the Lok Sabha elections, are also being considered strong contenders for the ministerial post.

Newly elected Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Rajghat at 7 am on Sunday before taking oath and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. He later paid tribute to martyrs at the memorial of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Shama Atal and the National War Memorial.

Security arrangements similar to those for the G-20 summit have been made for the swearing-in ceremony. Delhi will be on high alert on Sunday.
