Nitish Kumar News: Nitish Kumar was offered the PM post: Tyagi

Narendra Modi is going to take oath as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive time tomorrow. Along with him, members of the newly formed Union Council of Ministers will also take the oath of office and secrecy. JDU leader Nitish Kumar and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu approved the name of Narendra Modi as the leader of the NDA parliamentary party and the Lok Sabha in a meeting on Friday. However, after the results of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, when the people of the country did not give a clear mandate to any party, the opposition alliance India Block also tried hard to form the government at the Center. JDU senior leader KC Tyagi has revealed this.

On whether India Block is trying to form a government at the Centre and has contacted JDU for this, KC Tyagi said, 'Our leader Nitish Kumar has completely rejected any such proposal. Otherwise, a proposal has come that Nitish ji will become the Prime Minister. And such proposals are coming from those who have also refused to make Nitish Kumar the convener of Bharat Alliance. We were its pioneers. We ended the political untouchability of the Congress party. Akhilesh Yadav, Arvind Kejriwal, Mamta Banerjee were not ready to share the stage with the Congress.

India Block did not treat Nitish properly: KC Tyagi

JDU leader KC Tyagi further said, 'The way our leader and our party were treated, that is the result of that we had to leave the Bharat Gathbandhan and join the NDA. History is a witness to the fact that the situation started developing from that day itself. When KC Tyagi was asked which opposition leaders had contacted him to bring Nitish Kumar into his party, he said, 'It is not appropriate to reveal names in politics. But I say with great responsibility that such proposals came to our leader. Many top leaders of the opposition wanted to talk to Nitish Kumar. But the party has decided that there is no question of looking back. We will strengthen the NDA under the leadership of Narendra Modi.

How will Bihar be represented in the central government

Responding to a question on how much and what representation Bihar and JDU will have in the new Union Council of Ministers to be formed during Narendra Modi's third term as Prime Minister, KC Tyagi said, “We are happy that Nitish Kumar and JDU were rejected during and before the elections,” he replied. Today the respect of our leader has been restored and the credibility of JDU workers has also been restored. As far as the cabinet is concerned, it is a matter of discussion and coordination between the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister. I will not comment on that.

When asked whether the caste equation will also be kept in mind while giving representation to Bihar in the Union Cabinet, JDU leader KC Tyagi said, 'JDU is a party of all sections. But the major constituencies created by Karpoori Thakur and later Nitish Kumar come from very backward sections of the society. Janata Dal United's heartfelt desire is that they get proper representation. We are hopeful that the sections of Bihar which did not get representation in the Union Cabinet last time will also get a chance this time. MPs elected from backward classes will get a definite place in the Union Cabinet.
