Gurugram, June 7 (HS). The export performance from Haryana in the year 2023-24 was very commendable. Goods worth Rs 146180 crore were exported from the state in the last financial year, which is 14.77 percent more than the previous financial year 2022-23, due to which Haryana has reached the first position among the top seven states of the country in annual growth rate. Whereas in the financial year 22-23, Haryana was at the sixth position in this direction. Chairman of Haryana Export Promotion Council and former IRS Anurag Bakshi said on Friday that the achievement is definitely a matter of pride. This is the result of the far-sighted thinking of the Haryana government.
Sharing this achievement, Anurag Bakshi said that the total export of goods and services from the state increased by 12 percent to Rs 275245 crore in the financial year 2022-23. In which goods were exported for Rs 146180 crore and services exported for Rs 129065 crore (estimated). Bakshi said that the export figure of services is still estimated, which includes only the data of the IT sector. Efforts are on to provide information about the export of other services. The total export figure from the state is expected to be even higher when complete information is available.
Anurag Bakshi said that Haryana's annual growth rate of 14.77 in goods exports is highly commendable. Because among the top seven exporting states, exports from Gujarat decreased by 7.27 percent, Maharashtra by 4.31 percent, Karnataka by 1.53 percent and Uttar Pradesh by 2.12 percent in the year 2023-24. Even at the national level, a decline of 0.06 percent was registered in the total exports from India in the year 2023-24. In such a situation, the growth of 14.77 percent in exports from Haryana is a matter of pride for every Haryana resident. It is a proof of the far-sighted thinking of the Haryana government and the development taking place in the state.
Bakshi said that in the last few years, the Haryana Government has taken many effective steps towards increasing the exports from the State, which include the formation of Department of Foreign Cooperation and Haryana Export Promotion Council, restoration and increase in financial assistance for freight (Export Front Assistance) for exporters, financial assistance for participation in national, international trade fairs/exhibitions (Market Development Assistance) and sending a 60-member delegation from Haryana to the International Trade Fair held in Tanzania last year to explore trade possibilities.
