Stock Market Today: The stock market is trading with attractive gains for the third consecutive day. At 10.20 am, the Sensex rose 624.2 points to a high of 75698.71. The Nifty has crossed the important psychological level of 23004.85.
RBI decided to keep the repo rate intact and raised the GDP growth forecast for 2024-25 to 7.2 percent. At 10.30 am, the Sensex was trading 553.63 points up at 75628.98. While the Nifty was trading 173.65 points higher at 22995.05. BSE Market Cap Rs. 418.63 lakh crore.
Market breadth positive
A total of 3593 stocks were traded on BSE, of which 2609 were bullish and 842 were bearish. Out of the 30 stocks in the Sensex pack, 25 stocks were trading higher by 0.04 per cent to 4.63 per cent. Maruti, Kotak Bank, Hindustan Unilever, Indusind Bank, ITC were among the losers.
IT index gained 3 per cent
The BSE IT index rose 3 per cent today due to a rise in IT stocks. Shares of Wipro, Mphasis and Coforge and Persistent Systems rose 4 per cent, while shares of Infosys, Tech Mahindra, HCL Tech and TCS rose 1-2 per cent. IT stocks have been rising for the last three consecutive sessions. The index closed 2.39 per cent up on June 5 and 2.83 per cent up on June 6. Experts say that investors are continuously withdrawing money amid uncertainties over the formation of the new government. IT stocks have benefited.
