Mumbai: Actress Kangana Ranaut, who was going from Himachal to Delhi for the first time after being elected from Mandi seat of Himachal Pradesh in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections, slapped a CISF officer named Kulwinder Kaur during the physical test at Chandigarh airport. Kulwinder Kaur, unhappy with Kangana's remarks during the farmers' movement, slapped Kangana as soon as she came near her. The female jawan was immediately taken into custody and has also been suspended. An inquiry committee has also been formed by CISF regarding this incident. After this incident, there was a huge uproar in the entire airport. A video has gone viral which shows that the person accompanying Kangana also tried to slap the jawan on his face.
Today at around 3.30 pm, Kangana was catching a flight from Chandigarh to Delhi, she entered the booth prohibited for women at the airport for security check. At this time, female constable Kulwinder Kaur was present on duty there. According to Kangana's colleague Mayank Madhur, who was traveling with her, this constable slapped Kangana. It is being said that he was unhappy with Kangana's comments on Khalistani elements during the farmers' movement.
Later, Kangana herself released a video supporting this incident. In this, she said that as soon as I moved forward after passing the security check, the woman in the other cabin was waiting for me to come ahead and cross it. She immediately came from one side and slapped me and misbehaved while talking obscenely. When I asked her why she did this, the constable said that she was supporting the farmers' movement. Kangana said that since the discussion of this incident spread, she has been getting calls and messages from people from all over the country. Everyone is worried about my safety. But I am absolutely safe. 'But, I am worried about the way terrorism is increasing in Punjab and the way it is being dealt with.
Parallel to Kangana's statement, a video of Kulwinder Kaur also went viral. Kulwinder admitted that she had slapped Kangana. She said that when the farmers' movement was going on, Kangana had given a statement that women in this movement were sitting on dharna with Rs 100 each. My mother was also among the women sitting on that dharna.
It is seen in the viral video that Mayank Madhur, who was present with Kangana, also tried to jump on this woman constable.
As soon as the incident was reported, top police officials of Chandigarh immediately reached the airport. An FIR was filed against Kulwinder Kaur and she was taken into custody. CISF also immediately suspended her.
It is worth noting that in 2020, when the farmers' movement was going on, a video of an elderly woman named Mohinder Kaur walking holding the flag of the movement despite her back being bent went viral. This woman became famous as the female face of the farmers' movement. Meanwhile, Kangana shared a picture of Mohinder Kaur and compared her to Bilkis Bano, an 82-year-old woman from Shaheen Bagh who was involved in the anti-CAA movement, and wrote that yes, this is the same grandmother who was involved in the anti-CAA movement. Ramian National Women's Commission Chairperson Rekha Sharma urged strict action against the women constables in connection with this incident. She said that the Women's Commission has given a memorandum to the CISF headquarters in this matter. We demand strict action against this constable.
In the recently held Lok Sabha elections, Kangana won the Mandi seat by over 7400 votes against the Congress candidate.
