Students' demand to conduct NEET exam again to give grace marks rejected

New Delhi: Some students who took the medical entrance exam NEET have alleged that the marks of some students have been increased in this year's exam and due to this 67 students have scored 720 out of 720 marks. Students say that 6 out of 67 students are from the same examination center.

However, after this allegation, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has denied any irregularities. They said that the additional marks given due to changes in NCERT books and delays in examination centers are responsible for the higher marks.

In the results declared by NTA on Wednesday evening, 67 students have secured the first rank. Out of which 6 students appeared from the same examination center in Haryana.

It is worth noting that a question was asked in the current year's NEET exam. There were four options. When the answer key came out, the students objected to the answer given in the answer key saying that the correct answer is in the old textbook.

After this, NTA checked the new and old books and found that both the options of the students were correct. Due to this, both the students who answered according to the old textbook and the students who answered according to the new textbook were given five marks. Due to which the marks of 44 students increased from 715 to 720.

At the same time, students complained about the delay in time at some examination centers. These students filed a petition in Delhi, Chhattisgarh and Punjab-Haryana High Court.

After the High Court's decision, 1563 candidates were given grace marks for being late. Some students have demanded that the NEET exam be held again. However, the NTA has rejected this demand and said that no irregularities have taken place.
