Kolkata (West Bengal), June 06 (HS) Priyanka Bala is very excited to captain the Sarvotech Siliguri Strikers in the Bengal Pro T20 League starting on June 12 in Kolkata. The women's leg of this thrilling league, which will run from June 11 to June 28, will start on June 12 at Jadavpur University in Salt Lake.
Speaking about captaincy, Priyanka Bala said, “Although I have captained teams before, Bengal Pro T20 League is a big platform and captaining Servotech Siliguri Strikers is a big achievement for me.”
Regarding the preparations for the matches, Priyanka said, “We are following our strategy and for this the team is sweating it out in the nets. The team will play its first match against Harbor Diamonds on June 12.”
Priyanka, who was a part of Mumbai Indians in the Women's Premier League 2024, says, “I have learned a lot in the Women's Premier League, there I shared the dressing room with local players as well as foreign players and learned a lot from them. Which will definitely benefit us in the Bengal Pro T20 League “
She further adds, “We play for Bengal in domestic tournaments, but the Bengal Pro T20 League is a big platform which will give new players a chance to showcase their talent.”
The Bengal Pro T20 League, organised under the guise of Ariva Sports, is based on the lines of IPL and features 8 franchise teams in both men's and women's categories and will kick off from June 11 at Eden Gardens.
