JDU has demanded caste-based census in the country and special status to Bihar as well as at least five ministerial posts in the Union Council of Ministers. According to the information received, Nitish Kumar's Union Cabinet is eyeing important ministries like Railways, Rural Development and Water Resources. He reached Delhi on Wednesday to attend the NDA meeting called at the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
NDA got 292 seats
In the Lok Sabha election results declared on Tuesday, the NDA has won 292 seats. However, this time the BJP fell short of the majority figure (272) and managed to win only 240 seats. In such a situation, PM Modi needs his allies to form the government for the third consecutive time in the country. In such a situation, JDU President Nitish Kumar, who won 12 seats, is seen playing an important role.
A JDU leader said that the JDU leadership wants some important ministries in the Union Cabinet for the rapid development of Bihar. So that work can be done rapidly in the field of strengthening the infrastructure of Bihar.
Nitish wants caste based census in the whole country like Bihar
Another JDU leader said that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar wants to implement Bihar's caste-based census module across the country. JDU will insist the central government to conduct caste-based census across the country. So that the poor and backward people can be brought into the mainstream.
JDU currently has 45 MLAs in Bihar
Apart from this, some JDU leaders have also expressed their desire to hold assembly elections in Bihar soon against CM Nitish Kumar. So that JDU can reach a good position in the assembly due to victory in the Lok Sabha elections. JDU currently has only 45 MLAs in Bihar while its ally BJP has 78 MLAs.
JDU will insist on giving special state status to Bihar
After the results of the Lok Sabha elections, JDU, which is stuck in the NDA, will insist on giving special state status to Bihar. JDU MLC Khalid Anwar said that a large amount of funds are needed for the social and economic development of Bihar. Because of this, JDU wants special state status and large funds for Bihar from the Center.
