Chandigarh, 23 February (HS). Famous filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri's upcoming film Delhi File will be related to the massacre of Hindus in the last 100 years. While addressing the audience in the master class at the fifth film festival of Bharatiya Chitra Sadhna here on Friday, Vivek Agnihotri said that thousands of people have lost their lives in the massacres that took place since the Moplah massacre that took place 100 years ago. This history is the history of bloodshed. 20 thousand Hindus were murdered in the Direct Action Day in Bengal itself. Sometimes not telling the story is also a crime. The story that happened in the society should also be told.
Through Delhi File, I want to tell a story on this history. He called upon us to fill the space through social media with small stories of ourselves, our families and our streets. This will be useful later. When the common issues of the society come into the stories, they work to take the society forward. He said that earlier India was alive in films, but now India is disappearing from films. There is a need to bring the country back in films. Those who are making films do not know for whom they are making them.
Now our films have gone away from the common man and the common man has also gone away from films. He said that if you want to understand the history of India, then understand the villains of Indian films. He said that since the independence of the country till now, the villains have been changing in the journey of films in every decade and it is these villains which are helpful in understanding the mentality of the filmmakers of the country.
After the master class, Vivek Agnihotri met the media and openly answered their questions. In this conversation, the series of questions and answers continued for about an hour on the agenda of the film, the role of the censor board for films and OTT platforms, religious conversion and his upcoming films. The most important thing is that he said that if someone tells me that I make films with an agenda, then I have no objection in it, because the agenda runs from normal work to national and international issues. On the question asked on the role of Censor Board on films and content being served on OTT platforms, Agnihotri said that I do not want there to be a Censor Board. Although I am currently a member of the Censor Board myself. I have felt the pain of films getting stuck in the Censor Board.
I do not agree that there is an agenda in films: Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi
On the topic of Indian cinema entertainment or agenda, at the National Film Festival of Bharatiya Chitra Sadhna on Friday, Chanakya serial fame filmmaker Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi said that I do not agree that the filmmaker prepares the film with any agenda. He said that there is no agenda in Indian films, but it should be there. Everyone is affected by this. He said that I made Chanakya serial, I had no agenda in it. That was my commitment and this commitment was that India is an eternal nation. Dr. Dwivedi said that there is a political interest behind the protests against films. He said that there are very few such films which were made by thoughtful people. The aim of the filmmaker is that his film should be successful. My film Prithviraj was not successful, so due to this I had to leave my other five films.
