In the 2019 elections, Dushyant Chautala contested as a JJP candidate from Hisar Lok Sabha constituency and got 2 lakh 89 thousand 221 votes but he lost to BJP candidate Brijendra Singh in this election. Brijendra Singh got 6 lakh 3 thousand 289 votes in this election while Bhavya Bishnoi got 1 lakh 84 thousand 369 votes as a Congress candidate. Despite losing to BJP's Brijendra Singh in the last election, Dushyant Chautala's performance was excellent but in the assembly elections held some time after the Lok Sabha, Dushyant Chautala's party went and sat in the lap of BJP with the support of 10 MLAs.
Dushyant's joining BJP led to a strong reaction in the constituencies that voted for him because in the assembly elections, Dushyant Chautala had sought votes by saying that he would send BJP across the Yamuna. Votes were cast, results came and Dushyant Chautala became a partner in power, which was strongly opposed.
