BCCI Central Contract: Shreyas and Ishan may lose central contract, know the reason

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah had warned India 'A' players not to participate in domestic cricket under central contract. Shah had said that playing in Ranji Trophy is important for everyone. According to the report, the selectors under the leadership of Ajit Agarkar have prepared the list of centrally contracted players for the 2023-24 season and it will be announced soon. Ishan and Shreyas are expected to be left out of this list due to not playing domestic cricket. Ishan Kishan last played for India in the T20 series against Australia in November. Last year, he withdrew from the South Africa tour due to personal reasons and since then he has been out of the team.

Meanwhile, he missed the Ranji Trophy for his home team Jharkhand and reportedly trained with Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya in Baroda. Shreyas was also dropped from the team for the remaining three matches against England. Recently, Shreyas had refused to play for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy quarter-finals citing back pain, but NCA said that Shreyas has not suffered any injury and is completely fit.
