Toll Tax Rates: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has increased the toll tax. The new rates will now come into effect from 12 midnight on Sunday, June 2. Officials said that road toll charges are going to increase by 3-5% across the country from Monday. From 12 o'clock tonight, i.e. Sunday, car drivers going from Meerut to Sarai Kale Khan will have to pay Rs 165 instead of Rs 160 at the Kashi (Partapur) toll plaza. The toll for both ways in 24 hours will be Rs 250 instead of Rs 230. The burden on drivers going from Meerut to Karnal via Shamli on the Meerut-Karnal Highway will increase by five to ten rupees. Different rates have been fixed for different vehicle categories.
