It was earlier claimed that Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan would be dropped from the list of central contract players due to not playing Ranji Trophy. Ishan Kishan was embroiled in controversies during the South Africa tour. Ishan Kishan withdrew from the South Africa tour citing mental health. After this, Kishan did not get a place in Team India for the series against Afghanistan and England. Team India coach Rahul Dravid has made it clear that Ishan Kishan will have to play domestic cricket first to make a comeback. But Kishan did not accept this advice.
There was a dispute between Iyer and Kishan
