Counting of votes will begin at the counting centre in Pandra, three-tier security arrangements

Ranchi, June 03 (HS). Counting of votes for Ranchi Lok Sabha constituency will be done on Tuesday at the counting center located in Pandra. All preparations have been completed for this. Tight and comprehensive security arrangements have been made for counting. Senior Superintendent of Police Chandan Kumar Sinha said that adequate security arrangements have been made for counting. Counting of votes will start at 8 am amid three-tier security arrangements. Entry with mobile, camera or other electronic equipment is prohibited in the counting building. Before entering the counting hall, all the persons who have entry pass for the counting hall will be thoroughly checked.

Police-administrative officers and personnel have been deputed for counting of votes. All were briefed on Monday. In the presence of counting observers DS Ramesh and Amit Mehra, Returning Officer 08-Ranchi Parliamentary Constituency Rahul Kumar Sinha and Senior Superintendent of Police briefed the deputed officers and personnel. During this, Assistant Returning Officers and other related officers of all the assembly constituencies under Ranchi Lok Sabha constituency were present.

Returning Officer Rahul Kumar Sinha gave many necessary guidelines to all the officers and workers deputed for counting of votes, giving detailed information as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. To complete the counting process in a fair and transparent manner, he asked to ensure compliance of the instructions of the Commission. During the briefing, the Returning Officer said that only the officers, workers and security personnel deputed for counting of votes who have entry pass will be able to enter the hall, no other person will be allowed to enter the hall. Only essential items like official documents, identity card and duty related equipment will be allowed to be carried in the counting hall.

Sinha gave detailed information about the process of counting postal ballot and EVM votes. Everyone was given point-wise information about how to start the counting after matching the votes from CU and Form 17C in front of the counting agent.
