Arunachal Pradesh Election Result 2024: Along with the Lok Sabha elections, assembly elections were also held in many states. Assembly elections were also held in the north-eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh. Out of 60 assembly seats here, Congress has won only one seat. Whereas in the assembly elections 2019, Congress got four seats. That means only one MLA of the party has won in five years.
Congress announced tickets for 35 seats
In the assembly elections held this time in Arunachal Pradesh, Congress has announced tickets for 35 out of 60 assembly seats. But even after the announcement of tickets for 35 seats, 10 candidates of the party did not file their candidature. While 5 candidates withdrew their names after filing nomination and one candidate left the party and joined BJP. There were nine candidates of Congress who did not contest the elections even after getting the ticket. Due to this, the state Congress has taken disciplinary action against all of them and expelled them from the party for 6 years.
BJP won 46 out of 60 seats
In the Arunachal Pradesh assembly results declared on June 2, Congress won only one out of 60 seats. While the ruling BJP got 46 seats. This time BJP contested the elections under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu. The situation on 10 seats was such that 10 BJP candidates won the elections unopposed without contesting. That is, voting took place on only 50 out of 60 seats. It is worth noting that out of 35 seats of Congress, only 19 candidates had filed their candidature. Out of which only 1 candidate could win the election. Winning the election is the second priority for the party, the biggest challenge is to organize and unite the party first.
