After Vande Bharat, now air taxi will reach Gurugram from Delhi in 7 minutes, know how much is the fare?

Air Taxi India: After the semi high speed train Vande Bharat Express, now the country is going to get the gift of air taxi soon. DGCA has started work on the Urban Air Mobility Project. However, nothing has been said officially by the government about this. Air taxis will be launched in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru in 2026, followed by other cities like Chennai and Hyderabad.

According to a report, DGCA has formed technical committees to prepare a roadmap for air taxi operations in the country. IndiGo's parent company InterGlobe Infrastructure (IGE) will start working on the infrastructure after finalizing the rules related to e-vertical takeoff and landing i.e. eVTOL. IGE is going to work with American air taxi company Archer Aviation.

All work related to air taxi will be completed by the year 2026

DGCA has set up several panels to gather information on various aspects related to air taxis. These include air navigation, routes on which air taxis will operate, safety and standards related to vertiports. All work related to air taxis in India will be completed by the year 2026.

Which routes will there be and how much will the fare be?

According to the report, air taxis will be launched in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai and Bengaluru by 2026. After this, this service will be started in Chennai and Hyderabad. Archers CEO Nikhil Goyal said that the fare of air taxi will be slightly higher than the cab service Uber. For example, Uber's fare from Delhi to Gurgaon is Rs. 1,500 to 2,000. Air taxi will have 1.5% (per passenger) and can go up to 2,000 to 3,000. The special thing is that with the help of air taxi, the passenger can cover the distance from Delhi to Gurgaon in just 7 minutes. One of its routes can also be Bandra to Colaba.
