Heat has wreaked havoc in Odisha. The number of deaths due to heat is increasing. It is being said that 99 cases of heat stroke have been reported in 72 hours. According to the Special Relief Commissioner, a total of 141 deaths have occurred due to heat stroke so far, out of which 26 deaths have been confirmed to be due to heat stroke.
141 deaths in Odisha alone
With 45 deaths in Odisha in the past 24 hours and a constable on election duty succumbing to suspected heat wave in Bihar's Aurangabad district, the countrywide death toll rose to 211 on Sunday. Of these, 141 deaths were reported in Odisha.
The state government is concerned
The state government is worried about such a large number of sudden deaths due to heat wave. In view of the increasing number of deaths due to heat wave, a three-member team of doctors reached Rourkela Government Hospital on Saturday.

- Drink ORS or sugar-lemon juice
