Another farmer dies in Delhi farmers movement, 4 farmers dead so far

Another farmer has lost his life in the farmers movement. This is the fourth death of a farmer in the farmers' protest under the banner of Delhi Chalo March. On Friday, the 11th day of the movement, information was received that a farmer has recently died on the Khanauri border. The deceased has been identified as 62-year-old Darshan Singh. He was a resident of Amargarh village of Bathinda, Punjab. He was living at Khanauri border since 13 February 2024. Darshan Singh's family owns 8 acres of land and currently his family owes Rs 8 lakh. He had married his son just a few days ago.

First, the compensation amount given to the three martyred farmers should also be given to them. Darshan Singh's family members said that Darshan Singh fainted at around 11 pm on Thursday night. From there he was taken to the nearby Patan Community Health Center (CHC), from where doctors referred him to a higher centre. After this he was taken to Government Rajendra Hospital in Patiala where doctors declared him brain dead.

Son got married a month ago

Darshan Singh's friends told that he had married his son only a month ago. Farmers organization BKU Ekta Sidhupur has demanded compensation for the family of Darshan Singh. District general secretary of the organization Resham Singh said that the government should accept the demands of the farmers so that more farmers can be prevented from dying. Relative Lakhveer Singh said, “Darshan Singh is survived by his wife Paramjit Kaur, a daughter and a 24-year-old son, who got married just 20 days ago.”

Haryana Police has issued a letter claiming this

Haryana Police says that so far 30 policemen have been injured during the agitation. Two policemen have died in Haryana. One suffered brain hemorrhage. At the same time, during the movement, a policeman on duty in Punjab died in the gym. Haryana Police issued a letter saying, “Farmers are continuously trying to break the barricades put up on the Shambhu border in connection with their march to Delhi. Efforts are being made to disturb law and order by pelting stones at the police administration and creating ruckus. Miscreants are damaging government and private property.
