From now on, pharma companies will not be able to organize workshops for doctors abroad | Live Updates, Unveiling the Latest India News Trends

The government has now curbed the corruption of taking financial benefits and getting work done by giving promises or other inducements in the pharma industries. The rules have been tightened and strict controls have been imposed, so that transparency is maintained. The owners and managing heads of drug manufacturing companies have been asked to submit an affidavit to the government stating that the provisions of the Uniform Code for Pharmaceutical Marketing Practices (UCPMP) 2024 are being followed. The biggest step has been taken under the new proposed UCPMP. Under which from now on, pharma companies will not be able to organize workshops abroad for doctors or healthcare professionals. Not only this, expensive food will also not be served and financial grants have also been banned. So that unethical activities going on in the pharma world can be stopped.

By June 30, all pharmaceutical companies will have to submit an affidavit to the government that they comply with the UCPMP 2024. The Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) has sent a self-declaration form for the financial year 2024-25 to all pharmaceutical companies under the UCPMP for strict compliance with the rules. Which has to be filed mandatorily. Not only this, for the financial year 2024-25, the managing head of the company will have to give a declaration with his signature that the company is complying with the UCPMP 2024 for the financial year 2024-25. According to the code proposed by the Department of Pharmaceuticals in March, the provision of gifts or personal benefits to doctors, healthcare professionals and their family members was prohibited.
