The name of the IAS officer is Sonal Goyal. She joined the Indian Administrative Service in 2008 after securing 13th All India Rank in UPSC. His first posting was as Assistant Collector in Tripura. He is currently holding the post of Resident Commissioner in Tripura Bhawan, Delhi.

IAS Sonal Goyal recently shared her UPSC Civil Services Mains Exam 2007 marksheet on her social media account 'X' (formerly Twitter). To motivate the aspirants preparing for UPSC, he shared his marksheet and talked about his successes and failures. Recalling her struggling days, she said that she failed in her first attempt in the year 2007, but passed the UPSC exam the next year in 2008.
Don't give up after failure in the first attempt
IAS Sonal wrote in her post, 'When I saw my UPSC Civil Services 2007 Mains marksheet, old memories came alive, reminding me of the trials and triumphs that led to the final selection in the May 2008 results. I just want to share with the candidates that in my first attempt I missed the interview due to low marks in General Studies paper in Mains exam. However, this setback boosted my resolve to leave no stone unturned to achieve my UPSC goal. He worked twice as hard.
Despite the job, he did not stop preparing for UPSC.
He further added, 'After this I dedicated myself completely to improving other aspects of Mains, focusing on mastering the General Studies papers, making notes, frequent revisions and writing answers. . While studying LLB from Delhi University and working as a CS (Company Secretary), I put my heart and soul into every aspect of the UPSC syllabus.
Passed UPSC exam in second attempt
Even after failing in the first attempt, Sonal did not give up. He continued his UPSC preparation along with his job and was successful in his second attempt. “In my second attempt, I not only passed the exam, but my marks in General Studies were the highest compared to my optional subjects – Commerce and Public Administration,” he said.
