Jaipur, May 29 (HS). Panic spread in Vishwakarma police station area on Wednesday morning when a huge fire broke out in a tent warehouse. On receiving the information, eighteen fire brigade vehicles including police reached the spot and after about five hours of hard work, the fire was brought under control. Initial information from the police has revealed that due to the fire, goods worth crores of rupees kept in the warehouse were burnt to ashes and the nearby crockery warehouse was also damaged. Prima facie, it appears that the fire was caused by heat wave.
Chief Fire Officer Gautam Lal said that Jitendra Garg has a warehouse named Janta Tent House in Road Number-9 located in Vishwakarma police station area. Where on Wednesday morning suddenly smoke started coming out from inside the closed warehouse and people panicked when they saw flames coming out of the warehouse. On the information of the people, the police reached the spot and informed the fire brigade after shutting down the electricity supply.
The chief fire officer said that the fire was so fierce that it also engulfed the crockery warehouse near the tent warehouse. On the other hand, due to the presence of a lot of tent material in the warehouse, flames kept rising. After this, the fire engines started controlling the fire in the warehouse by spraying water continuously. The police controlled the fire in a few hours with the help of eighteen fire engines. All the material kept in the warehouse was burnt to ashes by the fire. Jitendra Garg, a resident of Vishwakarma and owner of Janta Tent House, has said that he will assess the loss and give the report later.
