ICICI Bank UPI facility for NRIs: Now NRIs living abroad can also make payments through UPI. For which it is not necessary to have an Indian mobile number. They will be able to make UPI payments in India by linking UPI through their international mobile number.
ICICI Bank has launched a new facility to make UPI payments easier for its NRI customers. In which NRIs will be able to make payments by generating UPI ID on their international mobile number.
Who can make UPI payments?
Using an international mobile number linked to an NRE or NRO bank account with ICICI Bank, an NRI customer can pay for utility bills, merchant transactions, online shopping through their mobile banking app iMobile Pay.

Phase 1 Download ICICI Bank iMobile Pay App
Phase 2 Log in to the iMobile Pay app
Step-3 Click on UPI Payments
step 4 Verify Mobile Number
Step-5 Click on Manage and then click on My Profile
Step-6 Create a new UPI ID (choose from the suggested options)
Step-7 Select the account number and submit
NRIs from these countries can take advantage of this
NRIs residing in USA, UK, UAE, Canada, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia can avail the UPI facility. Currently, the bank has released this facility for these ten countries.
How will UPI transactions prove useful?
NRIs living in the above ten countries will be able to transact rupees through UPI. They can make payments to Indian merchants. People living in India will be able to transfer money to their loved ones easily. Money can be transferred to any Indian mobile number. Also, money can be deposited in an Indian bank account.
