A Kurukshetra depot bus full of passengers fell into a roadside ditch due to brake failure on Kurukshetra National Highway 44 near Ratangarh village of Shahabad. Fortunately, there were no casualties in this accident. There were about 45 passengers in the bus, out of which 2 to 3 passengers suffered minor injuries.
The bus driver Dharamvir told that he had left from Kurukshetra for Chandigarh. Meanwhile, the brakes of the bus were fine, but when they reached near village Ratangarh on National Highway 44, the brakes of the bus were not working. The brakes of the bus had failed. Other vehicles were moving ahead of the bus. Therefore, he stopped the bus in the mine on the side of the road so that it does not collide with any vehicle. Fortunately, the bus did not overturn after going into the mine and the bus stood straight, due to which all the passengers remained safe.
Bus Smart said that some passengers were injured, but none is serious. The injured have been taken to the hospital. The remaining passengers have been sent to Chandigarh by arranging another bus. As soon as the information was received, the Dial-112 team reached the spot. The Roadways Department is investigating the matter.
