Srinagar, May 28 (HS). National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar in collaboration with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Jammu and Kashmir Branch Offices (JKBO) organised an educational outreach programme for faculty members and research scholars on Tuesday.
Director NIT Srinagar Professor A Ravinder Nath, Professor Najeeb Uddin, Chairman IIEDC and more than 50 faculty members and research scholars from various disciplines of NIT Srinagar participated in the programme with great enthusiasm.
Meanwhile a team of BIS officials including Tilak Raj, Director and Head, JKBO; Devansh Deolekar, Joint Director LITD; Pradeep Singh Shekhawat Joint Director CED; Tejas Sandeep Mahale Deputy Director SCMD; Mohit Garg Deputy Director CHD and Saqib Rahi Deputy Director MTD served as speakers for the workshop.
The workshop covered various aspects including overview of BIS and standardization ecosystem in the country, importance of research projects in standard creation, digital initiatives of BIS like becoming a member of technical committee, proposals for new standards, guidelines on research and development projects by BIS and terms of reference.
