The last phase of the Lok Sabha elections is going to be held on June 1 and the results will be declared on June 4 with the counting of votes. Speculation and debate are at their peak about who will form the new government in the country. This time Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) voters will play an important role in deciding the new government. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, BJP got the support of voters of both these classes and BJP formed the government at the Center. This time too, everyone's eyes are on who and how many people will win on SC-ST reserved seats. In 2019, out of 131 Lok Sabha seats reserved for SC-ST, BJP won 82 seats.
BJP wins 31 out of 47 ST reserved seats: In 2019, there were 47 reserved seats for Scheduled Tribes (ST), in which BJP performed well by winning 31 seats. Congress got only 4 seats. YSRCP got 2 seats and Independents got 2 seats. The maximum number of 6 seats reserved for STs are in MP, while 5 seats are reserved for STs in Jharkhand, 5 in Odisha, 4 in Chhattisgarh, 4 in Maharashtra and 4 in Gujarat. BJP's Horen Singh Bey won the SC reserved Assam seat by 2,39,626 votes, while NCP's Mohammad Faisal won the Lakshadweep seat by the lowest margin of 823 votes.
Out of 84 SC reserved seats, BJP won 46 seats
In 2019, 84 seats were reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC). The maximum number of seats reserved for this category were 17 in UP, 10 in Bengal, 7 in Tamil Nadu and 6 in Bihar. At that time, BJP won 46 seats and Congress won 6 seats. Apart from this, TMC got 5 seats, DMK got 4 seats and YSRCP got 4 seats. In 2019, BJP's Hansraj Hans won the SC reserved seat with the highest margin of 5,53,897 votes, while BJP's Vishnu Dayal Ram won the Palamuni seat with 4,77,606 votes. BJP's BP Saroj won the Machhlishahr seat in UP with the lowest margin of 181 votes.
