Rupnagar: Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust will organise Kavi Darbar every year at Sri Anandpur Sahib and also establish a library in the memory of late Surjit Patar, a renowned writer of Punjabi literature.
Managing Trustee of the Trust and eminent social worker Dr. SP Singh Oberoi said that Kavi Darbar will be organized every year in the memory of Surjit Patar at Sunny Oberoi Vivek Sadan (Advance Institute) run by Sarbat Da Bhala Charitable Trust in Anandpur Sahib. The living room of Vivek Sadan will be converted into a library. He said that some time ago a two-day world-class conference was organized by Sarbat Da Bhala Trust at Sunny Oberoi Vivek Sadan and Advanced Institute of Social Sciences in Sri Anandpur Sahib on the topic 'Thought of Inclusivity: The Holy, Romantic, Transcendent Meaning of Sri Anandpur Sahib' was organized under the chairmanship of Dr. Surjit Patar, in which 28 eminent scholars of Punjabi were invited, during which Dr. Surjit Patar also stayed here for two days. He said that during this conference Surjit Patar Hurin had told him that seeing the natural views visible from the room where Surjit Patar Hurin stayed, he should be firmly allotted in Vivek Sadan. Dr. Oberoi said that during that time I told him that from today this room is yours permanently.
Dr. Ubray said that he was told by Surjit Patar that Dasmesh Pita Guru Gobind Singh Ji used to organize a Kavi Darbar of 52 poets on the holy land of Anandpur Sahib, so let us also start a similar Kavi Darbar. He said that we had planned to organize a four-day Kavi Darbar by preparing 52 selected poets as per the advice of Patar Huron, which was to be presided over by Patar Sahib, but due to the sudden death of Surjit Patar, this Kavi Darbar has now become 2 months old. It has been extended, which will now be dedicated to Surjit Patar Huron.
