Jaipur, May 27 (HS). Medical Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar said that better arrangements have been ensured in medical institutions to provide relief to the common people from heatwave in the state. The department is trying to ensure that no person suffers from heat wave and heat stroke and the affected patients get immediate better treatment. He has instructed the officials from state level to block level to go to the field and do intensive monitoring of heatwave management.

The Medical Minister was addressing a high-level review meeting held at the Health Building on Monday regarding the management of heatwave and seasonal diseases in the state. In this review meeting, all the Joint Directors gave detailed information about the preparations and activities done for heatwave management in their respective districts.

The Health Minister said that due to geographical conditions, Rajasthan is a highly sensitive state in terms of heatwaves. In this natural disaster situation, it is our primary responsibility to provide the necessary health services to the general public for a healthy and normal life. He instructed the officials that patients should not face any kind of inconvenience in medical institutions. He instructed to provide these facilities immediately through RMRS fund wherever there is a need for more facilities like coolers, fans, ACs, water coolers etc. He said that the hospital administration should keep alternative arrangements in place in this hour of disaster. There should be no gap in medicine and testing services. Also, extensive publicity should be done to provide the general public with information about protection from heatwave and other necessary information.

The Health Minister directed the officials from the headquarters to go to the field and conduct intensive inspection of medical institutions. He also asked the district and block level officials to regularly inspect the medical institutions under their jurisdiction and ensure proper arrangements. He said that whatever shortcomings are found regarding heat wave management should be removed with immediate effect. He said that this is the time to come together with full commitment and provide relief to the common people. Any kind of negligence will not be tolerated in this.

Make strong preparations to prevent seasonal diseases

The Health Minister said that keeping in mind the possibility of seasonal diseases increasing in the coming time, ensure strong preparations from now onwards. There is no dearth of resources in strengthening and expanding the facilities by the department. It is our responsibility to make good governance a reality by providing better services to the common people.

Additional Chief Secretary of Medical and Health Department Shubhra Singh directed all the concerned officers to remain at the headquarters. She said that the control rooms at the state level as well as at the district level must be operated on alert mode. Officers should go to the field and ensure all arrangements for heatwave management. She informed that preparations for heatwave management in the state were started from the month of March, the result of which was that proper management of heatwave was ensured in about 90 percent of medical institutions and better arrangements are being made in the remaining 10 percent as well. Immediate treatment is being provided to heat stroke patients. Due to this, the loss of life in the state is negligible.

Mission Director of National Health Mission Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni, Managing Director RMSC Neha Giri, Director Public Health Dr. Ravi Prakash Mathur and other concerned officials were present in the meeting.
