The total average voting in the first phase was 59.71 percent, in the second phase 60.96 percent, in the third phase 61.45 percent, in the fourth phase 69.16 percent, in the fifth phase 62.02 percent and in the sixth phase about 60 percent voting took place. The Election Commission had decided to declare the election results on June 4, but later changed the dates for Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh and decided to declare the results on June 2.
