Rajasthan is experiencing severe heat at this time. The entire state is battling severe heat and drought. Fireballs are raining on the western border of India-Pakistan and the desert sand has turned into a sea of fire. The temperature on the Pakistan border has already crossed 55 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, hot and dry western winds are blowing in the entire region, which are coming from areas like Sindh, Balochistan and Thar Registan. This wind is passing through those areas where the temperature is reaching 50 degrees. Due to this, unbearable heat is being seen in the entire Rajasthan. The Meteorological Department estimates that severe heat will continue in Rajasthan for the next two to three days. 24 people have died in the last four days due to heat in the state. One death each occurred in Jalore and Nagaur on Sunday. A temperature of 50 degrees Celsius was recorded in Phalodi, Rajasthan in the last 24 hours. The maximum temperature was 48 degrees Celsius in Jaisalmer, Barmer and Jodhpur, 47 degrees in Ganganagar, Bikaner and Jaipur, 46 degrees in Kota while Chittorgarh, Fatehpur and Bhilwara recorded 45 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, almost all the districts of the state recorded temperatures above 44 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, due to the scorching heat, 300 bats have died in Udaipur in three days.
Heat wave alert in Assam: For the first time since 1960, mercury crosses 40 degrees in May
The north-eastern states of the country are also experiencing severe heat. The mercury has crossed 40 degrees in Assam's capital Guwahati, due to which the Meteorological Department has issued a heat wave alert. Saturday was the hottest day in Guwahati. For the first time since 1960, the temperature in Guwahati reached 40.1 degrees Celsius, which was 8 degrees above average. Earlier in May 1960, the mercury had reached 40.3 degrees Celsius, which was the highest temperature in May in Guwahati.
Record heat is prevailing in Delhi-UP
The heat in Uttar Pradesh is breaking records. The heat is more bothersome at night than during the day. After 24 years, Lucknow witnessed the hottest night of May. On Thursday-Friday night, the temperature in Lucknow was 31.3 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature recorded was 5.8 degrees above normal. On the other hand, there is no hope of relief from the heat in the capital Delhi as well. On Saturday, the heat in Delhi was so intense that many people fainted during voting. The temperature in some parts of Delhi was more than 45 degrees Celsius.
