Every year thousands of people lose their lives due to snake bites across the world. Falls, but now this problem can be solved soon. Scientists have succeeded in creating artificial human antibodies that would be able to neutralize the venom of highly venomous snakes like cobra, king cobra and krait. This finding of the researchers has been published in the Science Translational Medicine Journal. He said, just as antibodies were developed against HIV and Covid-19, this new antivenom can also neutralize snake bites.
Researchers from America's Scripps Research Institute, included in the research team, said that this study is an attempt to find a universal antibody solution, which can protect us from the venom of different types of snakes. Senji Lakshmi, a PhD student at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, said this is the first time that this strategy of developing antibodies has been adopted for the treatment of snakebite. India and sub-Saharan Africa are among the people most affected by snakebites.
