New Delhi: BMW Motorrad has unveiled a new motorcycle R20 Concept. It will be showcased at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este. The R20 Concept is characterized by its craftsmanship and large boxer engine. The R20 Concept looks like a cafe racer or bobber. However, the company is calling it a roadster. It is not yet confirmed whether the production version of the R20 Concept will be launched or not? Let's know about it.
The motorcycle features a newly designed fuel tank, which is finished in a 1970s-inspired “Hotter Than Pink” colour. The cylinder head cover, belt cover, air intake funnel are made of polished and anodised aluminium, while the Paralever strut, footrest system and ISR brake calipers are finished in gunmetal.
The R20 concept is a single-seater motorcycle, BMW has integrated the rear LED tail lamp into the seat itself and the seat is finished in quilted black Alcantara and fine-grain leather. The LED headlamps come with LED daytime running lamps and have a 3D-printed aluminium ring.
Its chassis has been completely redeveloped and now features a black double-loop main frame made of chrome-molybdenum steel tubing, which forms the backbone. There are 17-inch spoke wheels at the front and 17-inch black disc wheels at the rear. The rear tyre measures 200/55 while the front is 120/70.
Engine and performance
The highlight of the BMW R20 Concept is the air-oil-cooled big boxer engine with a capacity of 2000 cc. For the concept bike, a new cylinder head cover, a new belt cover and a new oil cooler have been designed to partially hide the oil pipes. It has twin megaphone exhaust pipes, which are elegantly designed.
