Raipur, May 24 (HS). Chief Electoral Officer Reena Babasaheb Kangale inspected the counting centre at Engineering College in Sejbahar today on Friday. Counting of votes for Raipur Lok Sabha election is to be held on June 4. She inspected the counting rooms being prepared for counting of votes.
Mrs. Kangale also gave necessary instructions to the officials regarding various arrangements at the counting place for uninterrupted and systematic counting of votes. Collector and District Election Officer Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, SSP Santosh Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Abinash Mishra, District Panchayat CEO Vishwadeep, Additional Collector Kirtiman Rathore, Devendra Patel, Nidhi Sahu and other officials were present on this occasion.
Chief Electoral Officer Smt. Reena Babasaheb Kangale inspected the assembly wise counting rooms in the district, seating arrangements for candidates and their counting agents, entry passes, monitoring through CCTV cameras, videography on the day of counting, security arrangements, barricading, arrangements for counting of postal ballots and VVPAT slips, announcement place etc. She informed that mobile phones, iPads, laptops, smart watches, cameras and other electronic devices will be prohibited in the counting hall. Media representatives can carry mobile phones till the media centre. She directed the media representatives to observe the counting process in small groups.
Mrs. Kangale observed the drawing-design of the counting place and counting rooms and directed to display it at the counting place for the convenience of the election agents so that the agents can reach their designated counting room easily. She also observed the routes made to reach the counting room assembly wise at the counting place.
Mrs. Kangale gave necessary instructions regarding the arrangement of tables for counting of votes at the counting centres in the district. She also enquired about the arrangement for bringing and taking back the control unit from the strong room to the counting room for counting of votes. She also discussed with the representatives of political parties present outside the strong room and took feedback regarding the security and monitoring system of the strong room and the arrangements at the counting centre.
