Kedarnath: A major accident took place in Kedarnath this morning. A helicopter carrying 7 people including 6 devotees had to make an emergency landing here due to a technical fault. However, fortunately the helicopter landed safely. The landing was not done on the helipad but in the hilly pit-puddle area next to it. All the passengers are safe. However, a video of the incident is going viral in which the dramatic sequence of this landing was captured.
Rudraprayag District Magistrate narrated the incident
Rudraprayag District Magistrate Saurabh Gadhwar said that the helicopter had taken off from Sirsi and was going to Kedarnath. However, shortly after takeoff, it developed a technical fault. After this, the pilot immediately decided to make an emergency landing. However, it can be seen in the video that the helicopter landed safely, but it happened in a mountain pit instead of the helipad.
