Former explosive Indian batsman Virender Sehwag said that apart from fans, players also face a lot of pressure from friends, family and children as well as relatives. Sehwag narrated an anecdote from his career during a show, in which he scored a century to keep his son happy. Sehwag believes that sometimes it becomes necessary for you to score runs to increase the respect of your family, children, friends and their people.
Sehwag's son was insulted
Virender Sehwag shared many interesting things related to his career during a show. During the interview, Sehwag revealed how his son had to face a lot of taunts in school due to his poor innings and his son had told him, “Papa, you play IPL but do not play well and this insults me.”
The son understood the important thing and scored a run
My son Aryavir, he used to tell me that Papa, you play IPL but do not score runs. All my friends say that your father is not a good player, he only comes to watch the matches, so I get insulted a lot in school. Sehwag said, okay son, I will try to score runs.
My son was happy and so was my wife.
When I went to play the knockout against Chennai, I scored 122 runs in 58 balls. While playing every ball, I thought that I have to score runs for my son so that he can play such a good innings that his respect increases in the class. After scoring 122 runs, I called my wife after the match and asked my son if he had watched the match. She said- Yes Papa, it was fun, tomorrow I will make my friends suffer. That is why sometimes it becomes necessary for you to run because your friends and family are watching you on the screen and to increase their respect, it becomes necessary for you to run.
