Relief to Election Commission from SC, court refuses to interfere in the matter of making voting data public

New Delhi: The Supreme Court today (24 May) gave relief to the Election Commission. The Supreme Court heard a petition questioning the delay in releasing the complete voting data. The court has refused to give any direction regarding uploading the vote percentage data on its website during the Lok Sabha elections.

Uploading Form 17C on the website is not correct: Election Commission

Let us tell you that the court heard a petition demanding to upload the data of votes cast at each polling station on the website within 48 hours of voting in the Lok Sabha elections. The court has reserved this decision. Let us tell you that this petition was filed by the NGO Association for Democratic Reforms. The Election Commission told the court that it would not be appropriate to upload Form 17C (data of votes cast at each polling station) on the website.
