Similarly, 290 cases of KP.2 variant have been reported in the country. Out of which the maximum 148 cases have been reported in Maharashtra alone. Apart from this, 23 cases have been reported in Gujarat, 21 in Rajasthan, 17 in Odisha, 16 in Uttarakhand, 36 in West Bengal, 12 in Goa, 1 each in Madhya Pradesh and Delhi, 3 in Haryana, 8 in Uttar Pradesh and 4 in Karnataka.
According to CDC data, there are only two strains of the new variant of Corona FLiRT, KP.1 and KP.2. Both these strains are growing rapidly. Which increases the infection after entering the body of a person. This new variant of Corona is similar to Omicron, which spreads infection among people rapidly.
Let us tell you that a new wave of corona is being seen in Singapore. Where more than 25,900 positive cases have been reported from 5 to 11 May. Of which KP.1 and KP.2 have more than two-thirds of the cases. In view of the continuously spreading infection, the Singapore government is again appealing to people to wear masks.
