New RTO Rules For Minor Driving: These days a case from Pune has become a topic of discussion in the whole country. On the night of 19 May, between 2 and 2:30 am, a minor in Pune crushed two IT engineers with his luxury car Porsche, killing both of them on the spot. The accused was 17 years and 8 months old.
Due to this, the police have arrested the minor's father in this accident case. At present, the action and investigation of the case is going on. New rules are to be issued by the Government Regional Transport Office from June 1. Challan up to 25 thousand rupees
From June 1, 2024, the Regional Transport Office i.e. RTO is going to issue new rules for vehicles. In these new rules, the amount of challan for driving a vehicle has also been increased by the RTO. According to the new rules, now if a minor i.e. a boy or girl below the age of 18 years is caught driving, then a challan of up to Rs 25,000 can be imposed on the minor's father or his guardian.

Under the new driving rules made by the RTO, a challan of up to Rs 25,000 can be issued against the father of the minor if the minor drives a vehicle. If any kind of accident happens in such a case, the father may also have to go to jail. As happened in the Porsche accident case in Pune, where the police have taken the minor's father into custody.
What is Pune accident case?
On the late night of 19 May 2024, a minor was driving a Porsche car in the Kalyani Nagar area of Pune under the influence of alcohol. The minor hit two IT engineers riding a bike on the road with his car. The accident was so terrible that both the IT engineers died in it.
Pune Police has registered an FIR against the minor under Section 304 of IPC and other sections of Motor Vehicle Act. Along with this, the police has filed a report against the minor's father under Section 75 and 77 of Juvenile Justice Act.
