Lohardaga, 23 May (HS). District Legal Services Authority (DALSA) Secretary Rajesh Kumar and Principal Magistrate Juvenile Justice Board Jaya Smita Tirkey visited the observation home in Gumla. A total of 76 children are lodged in Gumla Observation Home, which includes 41 children from Gumla, 6 from Simdega and 29 from Lohardaga. Since there is no observation home for children in Lohardaga, the children of Lohardaga are confined to Gumla.
The DLSA secretary met the children one by one and learned about their problems. The chief magistrate also enquired about the progress of the children's cases. On behalf of the Lohardaga District Legal Services Authority, the children were informed about gender crimes and de-addiction related matters, in which the ill-effects of drug abuse and the recent Supreme Court decision on serious crimes like POCSO were mentioned, in which even the Supreme Court refused to grant bail to a child for making a girl's video viral. Superintendent Avinash Kumar and Probationer Officer Kanhaiya Soni, Warden Sita Kumari were also present in today's program.
