Ramgarh, 23 May (HS). East Central Railway has taken important steps towards environmental protection. Quick watering system has been installed for water utilization in trains. This facility has also been implemented at Barkakana Junction in Ramgarh district. A statement in this regard has also been issued by the Public Relations Department of Railways. It has been told that for quick filling of water in train coaches, quick watering system is being used at 12 major railway stations of East Central Railway. Instant water system is a very useful plant to ensure availability of water in trains when there is a minimum stoppage of trains at the station for ten minutes. The discharge rate of the instant water system is maximum 200 litres/minute. Which can be adjusted as per requirement.
Know at which station this facility is available
Presently at Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay Junction, Dhanbad, Barkakana, Chopan and Nesubo Gomo stations of Dhanbad division, Patna Junction of Danapur division, Muzaffarpur and Barauni railway stations of Sonpur division and Darbhanga, Saharsa, Jaynagar and Narkatiaganj railway stations of Samastipur division. This facility is available. Due to this, the time taken to fill water in trains has reduced significantly as compared to the earlier system. Using this system it takes approximately 08 minutes to completely water a 24 coach train. This also helps in improving punctuality of mail/express trains.
Approval was given to install the system at these 12 stations
Approval has been received for installation of water supply system at a total of 12 stations of East Central Railway and work is in progress. Which will be completed soon. Approval has been received for installation of water supply system at Buxar, Ara, Danapur, Pataliputra, Islampur, Bakhtiyarpur, Kiul and Rajgir of Danapur division, Singrauli of Dhanbad division, Gaya of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay division and platform number 3, 4 and 5 of Saharsa railway station of Samastipur division and Samastipur railway station. Apart from this, the facility of water supply system is also proposed for Sitamarhi railway station of Samastipur division and New Barauni railway station of Sonpur division.
The new system will stop wastage of water
According to railway officials, the use of the rapid water system has not only controlled the wastage of water, but the train coaches are also being filled with water in a very short time. By preventing wastage of water, this system is proving to be very useful in water conservation as well as environmental protection. The rapid water system consists of three high-pressure pumps, which supply water to the hydrants on the platform. It also has an advance automation and control system for the operation of this plant. This includes sequential start of the pumps as well as variable speed control for each pump.
