Raipur, 23 May (HS). When the BJP government asked the Naxalites for suggestions under their rehabilitation policy, State Congress President Deepak Baij said that the government is confused about Naxalism. The government doesn't understand what it has to do? Till now the government has not made any Naxal policy in five months.

He said that the policy of trust, development and security of the previous government which was completely successful has been rejected by the BJP government. After rejecting the old policy, the present government has not yet announced any policy regarding Naxalism. Before the government comes up with a rehabilitation policy, the Naxal policy should be announced. When the Naxal policy is announced then the rehabilitation policy will be made, this is a part of it. Naxal policy has not been made yet and they are claiming that they will come up with a rehabilitation policy. This indecisive situation cannot solve this serious problem.

Deepak Baij asked the question that the government should tell whether the government had any conversation with the Naxalites before asking for suggestions for the rehabilitation policy? An environment of mutual trust should be created before asking for suggestions. Has the government taken any such initiative? If so, has any positive response been received from the Naxalites? Has there been any consensus on ceasefire (peace initiative) till a policy is made between the two sides? If it is made then the government should make it public. If any incident happens during the time of suggestion sought by the government, then what is the government's plan in that regard? The government should also clarify whether this initiative of the government is one-sided or whether the other party also agrees with it.
