Cricket News : Renowned cricketer Sunil Gavaskar recently hosted a memorable meeting of great cricketers who have graced cricket stadiums in India and around the world in Mumbai. From old generation cricketers like Chandu Borde and Nari Contractor who are over 80-90 years old to new and old cricketers like Sandeep Patil, Kiran More, Mohinder Amarnath and Sachin Tendulkar and Praveen Amre, all were specially present. Gavaskar himself has shared these memorable moments on his social media account.
Gavaskar had invited these legends to a private club in Mumbai's BKC last Thursday. In this event titled Legends of Cricket, some cricketers met each other after decades and became emotional while talking about the then cricket world and the current era of IPL. In this meeting, Gavaskar invited his childhood friends, cricketers with whom he made lifelong relationships during his career as a cricketer and other legends. Accepting Gavaskar's invitation, Mohinder Amarnath, the hero of 1983 World Cup cricket, known as Jimmy, and old cricketers including current selector of Indian cricket team Ajit Agarkar were also present.
However, many senior cricketers graced the occasion by attending the ceremony. The presence of 90 year old female contractor, 89 year old Chandu Borde, 93 year old leg spinner Chandu Joshi seemed to refresh the decades old moments of Indian cricket. Sachin Tendulkar also made a special appearance at the party, taking the opportunity to meet his predecessors and successor cricketers. Sandeep Patil and Kiran More, who played with Gavaskar, were also present with memories of those days.
Recognising Joshi, who took 292 wickets in first-class cricket, Gavaskar said he was a brilliant leg-spinner and is also a top-class architect today. M.M. Soumya, a member of the Indian team that won gold for India at the Seoul Olympics, was among those present, along with actor Nana Patekar, Sachin Pilgaonkar, Sachin Khedekar, Praveen Amre, Jatin Ranjpe, former Mumbai captain Milind Rege and BCCI officials.
