Mumbai: Vishal Agarwal, the builder father of a 17-year-old collegian, who was caught in the sensational case of rashly driving a luxury car and crushing two IT professionals in Pune, has been arrested by the police from Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar. Apart from this, six other accused including the hotel owner, two managers and employees have been arrested for serving liquor to the teenager and further investigation has been done.
Anees Awadhiya (age 24) and Ashwini Costa (age 24) were killed when 17-year-old Vedant Aggarwal was driving a Porsche luxury car under the influence of alcohol and hit a bike in Pune's Kalyani Nagar area on Sunday morning. ,
Pune Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar said, 'We have arrested the boy's father Chhatrapati in Sambhaji Nagar.
Accused builder Vishal Aggarwal was arrested and brought to Pune. While drivers Chaturbhuj Dolas and Rakesh Paudwal were arrested.
Apart from this, Pune Police has arrested Kazi Restaurant owner Prahlad Bhutada, Manager Sachin Katkar and Hotel Black manager Sandeep Sangle for serving liquor to the accused teenager. Jayesh Bonkar, who works in the bar, has also been arrested.
The accused teenager along with his friend went to two restaurants between 9.30 and 1.00 am on Saturday night and drank alcohol. The teenager was drunk and was driving the car.
A case has been registered against the minor's father, bar owner, manager and employee under sections 75 and 77 of the Juvenile Justice Act. Section 75 deals with willful neglect of a child and Section 77 deals with supplying liquor or drugs to a child.
According to the FIR registered in connection with the incident, the accused father gave the car to his son despite not having a driving license, due to which two people lost their lives. The father knew that the minor son was drinking, yet he allowed him to party.
Police have registered a case against the accused student under Section 304 and Motor Vehicle Act. During the accident, miscreants beat him up. People were angry as the accused got bail within 15 hours. The police were accused of negligence in action.
Hotel owner, two managers in police custody till May 24
The court has given police custody till May 24 of the restaurant owner and two managers, who were arrested by the police in connection with the death of two people when a Porsche car was driven by a drunken 17-year-old minor. Liquor in Pune.
Among the accused, Koji Restaurant owner Naman Prahlad Bhutada, manager Sachin Katkar and Black Club Hotel manager Sandeep Sangle were presented in the court.
Seeking seven-day custody, the government side told the court that the hotel owned and managed by the accused was accused of serving liquor to minors and their friends without verifying their age.
After hearing the arguments of both the sides, Additional Sessions Court Judge S. P. Ponkshe gave the three accused into police custody till May 24.
