Kolkata, May 20 (HS). Voting process was disrupted for some time in Bongaon and Barrackpore due to storm and rain. By 11:30 in the morning the sky was covered with clouds. It started raining with strong wind. Voters who were standing in the queue since morning started leaving the queue and taking shelter in the surrounding areas.
Local people said that voting was going on smoothly in Bongaon Lok Sabha constituency since Monday morning. Meanwhile, due to the sudden storm, many temporary camps of political parties around Shyampur polling station of Bagda collapsed within a short time. The voters got scared and started running here and there.
According to the information received, voting was stopped due to heavy rain at booth number 217 of Angrel under Jhaudanga Panchayat of Gaighata. Due to rain, the voting process was also disrupted for some time at various centers in Barrackpore.
