MP players won 2 medals in Senior National Sailing Championship

Bhopal, 20 May (HS). Senior National Sailing Championship 2024 was organized from 12 to 18 May in Mumbai. In the championship, players of Madhya Pradesh State Sports Academy won a total of 02 medals including 01 gold and 01 silver.

Vidyanshi won 01 Gold and Ku. Neha Thakur 01 received silver medal

02 players of Madhya Pradesh State Sports Academy, Divyanshi Mishra and Neha Thakur, performed brilliantly in sailing and won 01 gold and 01 silver medal. In the championship, Vidyanshi Mishra, despite being a very light weight player, won the gold medal by performing excellently in the strong wind of 15 to 20 knots with her sportsmanship and physical efficiency. Academy player Neha Thakur performed better in the event and won the silver medal.

Player Neha Thakur had earned a silver medal in the Asian Games Hangzhou China. Both the medal winning players of the academy are training under the guidance of the academy's chief trainer Narendra Rajput and assistant trainer Anil Sharma.

In the competition, the players were awarded under the chief hospitality of Vice Admiral Sanjay Jasjit Singh, Flag Officer Commanding in Chief of Western Naval Command. It is noteworthy that a total of 69 sailors from 12 clubs and state associations from across the country participated in the competition. A total of 09 member team of Madhya Pradesh State Sports Academy had participated.
