Disclosing the murder case in Kotwali Roorkee, SSP Pramendra Dobal said that the deceased was identified as Nitin alias Guddu, son of Naresh Kumar, resident of 77 West Amber Pond, Roorkee. The deceased was murdered by some unknown person with a sharp weapon. In connection with the case, a case was registered in Kotwali Roorkee on the complaint of deceased's brother Gaurav, son of Narendra, resident of 79 West Amber Pond, Ganganagar.
The SSP said that he had given instructions to form five police teams to uncover the murder case and quickly arrest the murderer involved in the incident. CO Roorkee Narendra Pant has identified the accused of murder as Sajid, resident of Islamnagar Roorkee. He has already gone to jail in some case. Sajid was constantly changing locations to escape from the police. The accused has also been avoiding using mobile phones. On the information of the informer, the police has succeeded in arresting the murder accused from Kaliyar Dargah area. At the behest of the accused, the knife used in the murder was recovered from the sand near the spot.
SSP said that during interrogation it has been revealed that the murder accused and the deceased are drug addicts. A week ago, deceased Nitin alias Guddu had beaten up accused Sajid and snatched Rs 130. Angered by the snatching of money and assault, Sajid starts searching for deceased Guddu to take revenge. On May 4, when murder accused Sajid's son Abdul Ghaffar, resident of Islamnagar Roorkee, reached under Solani bridge rubbing cannabis leaves, he found Guddu there smoking cannabis. When both of them started fighting over money, the accused Sajid, already filled with anger, attacked Nitin several times one after the other with a knife kept for cutting the cannabis plant and ran away from the spot thinking that he was dead. .
