Rajasthan High Court expressed concern over vacancies of posts, judicial work is being disrupted

Jodhpur, 18 May (HS). Senior Judge of the Division Bench of Rajasthan High Court, Dr. PS Bhati and Justice Munnuri Laxman expressed concern over obstruction of judicial proceedings due to vacancy of posts of Chairman and Members in consumer commissions at many places in the State and directed the Additional Advocate General of the State Government to the Court. It has been asked to inform how many posts are vacant in the last one to two years and what is the proposed program and plan of the state government after filling these posts. The next appearance has been scheduled for Tuesday.

While debating the PIL filed by Rajasthan High Court Advocates Association demanding filling of vacant posts of Chairman and members in the State District and State Consumer Commission, adequate recruitment of staff, resources etc., Advocate Anil Bhandari said that many districts of the state The vacant posts of Chairman and members in the Commission are vacant for the last one to two years and due to non-filling of full posts of members of the State Commission, the expectation of speedy justice of the Consumer Act is not being fulfilled and the Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs The Principal Secretary is not taking sufficient interest in filling these posts.

He said that last year a permanent bench of the State Commission was constituted in Jodhpur, but despite the instructions of the court, the district administration is still not providing adequate and convenient space. During the hearing, senior advocate Additional Advocate General Rajesh Panwar, on behalf of the state government, said that 25 posts including one post of member in the State Commission and 7 posts of the Chairman in the District Commission and three posts of members in Jodhpur are vacant and in the coming six months, 21 posts are vacant. And due to vacant posts, the process of recruitment is proposed for a total of 54 posts.

He said that judicial proceedings in the District Commissions are being disrupted due to vacant posts. He said that to fill these posts, a selection committee has also been constituted under the chairmanship of the senior most judge of Rajasthan High Court. Senior advocate Dr. Sachin Acharya appeared on behalf of the High Court and Deputy Solicitor General Mukesh Rajpurohit appeared on behalf of the Government of India.

The Division Bench directed the Additional Advocate General to find out what is the proposed outline and plan with the State Government and the Consumer Affairs Secretary to fill the vacant posts in the State and District Consumer Commission. The next date of hearing was fixed for May 21.
